Joining the ranks of Farmer Ike’s other home-developed fruits and veggies (like apples, peaches, beets, carrots, and tomatoes) come some absolutely beautiful and delicious eggplant we've named "Purple Tiger"!

Farmer Ike was tiring of spending 30 cents apiece on high quality eggplant seed, so he took matters into his own hands and started working with eggplant breeding some years ago. We have his efforts to thank for these completely gorgeous striped eggplants (and yes – they’re GMO-free!!).

In addition to being some of the most photogenic eggplant ever, they are also very well adapted to growing in our little micro-climate (as this picture attests), and are super-delicious. You can use eggplant interchangeably in recipes. We find these to be a wee bit sweeter (not as bitter) and tender than the big black eggplant you might get in the grocery store.

And hey - are there any artists out there? These deserve to be portrayed in a painting or portrait! Acrylic, oils, watercolor, fingerpaint... whatever! (and please, if you do one, share a picture of it with us!)

Enjoy these tasty beauties – you’ll find them nowhere else in the world…and that’s pretty darned nifty!
