Johnny Appleseed

For Young Students (suggested ages 4-8):

We'll start with a storytime read-aloud of "Johnny Appleseed" by Carol Ottolenghi, and learn about how long it takes for apple trees to make apples and we'll look at the transformation from bud to bloom to baby to full-grown apple.

Then we'll hike through the orchard to see different ages and types of apple trees, observe how different apples can look, and we'll cut an apple open to look at it in detail.

A book-related activity will be included, and we'll finish up with an apple tasting of some apple varieties which will surprise your tasebuds. Johnny Appleseed would be proud!

For Older Students (suggested ages 8-12):
