Sweet, very juicy with a fruity flavor and tender, breaking texture. Discovered by S. Lothrop Davenport, Director of Worcestershire County Horticultural Society’s orchard of old American apple varieties. It is believed to be the offspring of McIntosh. Circa 1928. Awarded a first-class certificate by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society in 1945. Ripens in mid-September.
